my golf swing is very inconsistent. how do i fix it?

By

i know the proper way to swing. i just cant seem to do it.
does anyone have any training tips or exercises that might help me.

you need to build up muscle, flexibility and endurance- as we continuously do something or bodies will get tired, so make sure your body can last 18 holes. and golf is all about muscle memory, so it will take time….

- a lot of people don’t do this but you have to rotate your hips 45 degrees to get your shoulders to 90 degrees that average golfer usually slides which can also cause inconsistency.

GOOD LUCK

Jim Mclean 8 step swing video and probably a few lessons wouldn’t hurt.

If you know the proper way to swing, take it very slow….like slow motion and in a mirror. Watch what you’re doing and seriously….take it slow! And when you think, damn this is slow! Go even slower! Get everything locked in and SLOWLY build your speed.

Controlling what your body does during the swing is all in your head. You need to en-grain a pre-shot routine first of all. Do you have one? You should have only one or two swing thoughts when you swing, but before you step up and address the ball, rehearse all the things you want to do in your swing and where you want the ball to go etc., kind of like a "think box" . Then step up to the ball ("execution box") and only think about 1. the target 2. a positive thought. When you step up to the ball and swing, fear is a major problem. If you have fear, you will not use your big muscles properly, and tend to not make a full rotation. You obviously do not have confidence in your swing. Go see a swing coach and practice your swing, then you can gain confidence. If you have confidence, you can step up to the ball and BELIEVE you are going to make a good swing, which eliminates fear, which allows you to shift your thinking from "the swing" to "the target"….hope that helps.

Stand up taller, which will put you closer to the ball. Swing on a 7:00 to 1:00 plane. I put my logo at 7 to give me something to aim for. This will help you come from the inside, which is what you need to do to hit it straight or even with a slight draw. Then at impact be sure to roll your hands so that the club face is square. 2 main swing thoughts. Swing from the inside and roll hands through impact. Basically you want pimp slap the ball with the back of your left hand! If you are right handed!
As a bonus tip, however long your driver shaft is, from the head to where the grip starts. That’s the distance you want to stand from the ball!
