I went to the driving range for my first shot at golfing yesterday. I want to be able to keep up with my boyfriend who golfs. Here’s the thing…yes I stink so far, my hand eye coordination is not up to par…besides getting really mad at that haha, I have a problem. I am very chesty…I mean I am about 38 DDD….yes they are annoying, but I try not to let it stop me from doing fun things….so when I go to swing my biceps prevent me from really pulling back for a good swing.

Does anyone male or female have any advice for me? Also since my bf is not very good at explaining this…anyone have any other kind of advice for a new golfer? He said I was good at hitting the ball straight, but I didn’t really get past 75yds. I want to like this, but I need help first!!!

Thank you!!!

Kudos to you for seeking help to improve your game. As you get more and more into the game of golf you are going to realize that it is a lifetime journey. The golfswing must be learned, and improved over time, so be patient and enjoy the journey.

I would encourage to take a lesson every few weeks and work on what the pro tells you. also, there is a great little book that is easy to read and understand and is a must for getting the right information for the golfswing. 5 playing lessons by ben hogan. simple to understand, and correct information without all the opinions you will get from golfers on the range and on YA.

Also, if you are really concerned about your chest affecting your game, and some women are, get a good sports bra, and that may make you feel more confident. truth is, a woman’s chest has little impact on her swing.

Specific tips….pick out a single dimple on your golf ball when you are about to hit it, and focus on that dimple all the way through impact. second, when you adress the ball, take the club away as slowly as possible, like you are in slow motion. how slowly you take the club has no bearing on how fast you can swing through the ball, but it will help you be in the correct position to hit the ball squarely. finally, enjoy being out there. sure it is more fun when you play well, but this game is about being out there and playing properly and with courtesy and integrity, not just about winning.

Good luck to you. Hope to hear how your game is going.

Hey, I want to learn how to golf.
I live in toronto, and i dont know where theres a gold corse..does it cost money?
what would i need to go out and buy, which ones are good quality, or more classy?
What are the benifits of golf … any tips on golf?
thanks.

Hey,
It’s brilliant you want to learn golf we need more junior girls playing the game. I’m the current junior captain at my golf course over in England, I’m a 17 year old girl icon smile What do you need to take up Golfing? Asked by a 16 year old girl ....?

Right onto a few details of golf, Please do NOT go buy yourself anything for golf just yet, it can get quite expensive. Not until you’ve tried out a pair of golf clubs on a driving range or practice area, grab a friend to go along with you if you want, but read the rules of the practice areas. Finding practice areas shouldn’t be too hard, simply do a google search, and hopefully that’ll come up with a nearby golf course with a driving range. You could even check with local golfers if there is a taster session at any clubs nearby for beginners. Another option is to have a lesson with a professional, there’s normally one for each club, but lessons can be expensive also.

But basically all you want to do is start hitting golf balls on the range, don’t worry if you miss the golf ball it take some time, like riding a bike. The more you practice the better you get, and even the best golfers practice their game practically every day.

If golf seems to be your sport, which I hope it does become, don’t buy the most expensive set you set your eyes on. A half set of clubs is perfect for a beginner, so a driver, 3 wood/5 wood, 7 iron, 9 iron/pitching wedge/sand wedge and putter. My own first set was a half set and 3rd hand. You will probably need to have a ladies set, which means that the shaft is not so hard as mens, and so is easier to hit with. Golf shoes might be needed, again second hand are fine to start with. You’ll also need golf balls, and tees, and get a simple rule book so at least then you’ve got an idea of what to do on a course.

The benefits of golf… well, Golf promotes flexibility, strength, responsibility, sociability, etc…

As for tips, be positive with your shots, but don’t get too risky. Think about the shot, but don’t over think it. Ignore people who say golf is for the old, far from it. Remember that every golfer who has ever played had to start somewhere. Respect the course you play on and repair it. And finally, relax with your swing, take time, your not going to hit it 250 years immediately.

P.S. -> Golf is a game, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you scored, the aim of playing is to have FUN!

I hope I haven’t put you off in any way, and if you have any other queries I would be happy to help.

Any tips on golfing?

Posted by: | Comments (11)

i just started playing

We have a long list of video instructional tips on the Digital Golf website for beginners. Just click the link below and check out the beginners section of the instruction page.

The biggest tip I can give you is be patient. Just because the ball is motionless on the tee doesn’t mean the game is easy. Don’t let other people pressure you; learn at your own pace. And, find a par 3 course where you can hone your game before you try a full size course.

Make it fun, and I hope we can help you make it enjoyable!

Tips for golfing on wii sports?

Posted by: | Comments (2)

always take a few practice cuts before you adress the ball

the dots on the power meter correspond to the dots on the map screen showing the distance to the cup.
(i.e. if you’re 2 dots away from the cup, you would ideally get your power meter up to the 2nd dot on the power meter.)

I know you’d like to just whack the ball as hard as you can off of the tee, but until you’ve practiced enough to know how to measure your swing, you should back off a bit.

Don’t be afraid to lay-up on the 9th hole, it’s a real m——f—-r
if you know what I mean.

Tips for playing in the wind?

Posted by: | Comments (15)

I tell you it’s so windy today here in So.Cal that their is really no use in playing its that bad , what are some good golf tips for playing in the wiind?

Keep your shots low by playing the ball back in your stance..taking an extra club and choking down on the club.

For putting..try a wider stance it helps you have better balance. thats why a lot of europeans have wide stances because its so windy there that they need to have good balance.
